Polo SWAP is VELA’s first release, a refined interpretation of the traditional polo bridle, bringing together clean lines, considered construction and the expertise of a Master Saddler.

Designed around the anatomy of the polo pony and the demands of the sport, each element has been carefully reconsidered. From the shape of the headpiece to the arrangement of the straps, the design creates a streamlined profile while allowing greater clearance around sensitive areas and maintaining the stability required in play.

Each bridle is made entirely by hand from carefully selected European vegetable-tanned bridle leather, chosen for its strength, durability and character. Traditional English bridlemaking techniques and precise workmanship underpin every detail, bringing together a refined appearance, practical function and lasting quality.

Polo SWAP began with one question: can the polo bridle be more anatomically considerate without compromising the function its sport demands? To find out, we work with players, pilots, breeders, grooms, trainers and other professionals in the international polo community: taking measurements, testing prototypes in real-world conditions, and gathering practical feedback, industry knowledge and support.
